I have a date with Stevie Wonder on Friday. We're meeting at the White River Amphitheatre. I'm really excited because he is a fun and brilliant musician. He's really excited because I am a foxy and clever blogger.
This post would be better but I'm distracted by The Food Network. Rachael Ray just said, "Ooby gooby." I will use that phrase on my date with Stevie. He'll probably turn it into a song - "Ooby Gooby Girl."

Library -> facial hair
Books to the ceiling,/ Books to the sky,/ My pile of books is a mile high./ How I love them! How I need them!/ I'll have a long beard by the time I read them.

What I wouldn't do if I were trying to retire by 30
Megan Jensen (note the credit!) directed me to my new favorite website: someecards.com. I swear swear swear it's more fun than it sounds.
Let the laughter and day-wasting begin.
Let the laughter and day-wasting begin.
My home sweet home.
Fireworks are my favorite kind of propaganda. Chocolate comes in a close second, but I don't know of any nation that actually uses it.
Make it happen, Barack.

This evening I drank a beer and ate a hot dog on a roof top deck. It smelled like barbecue and sounded like woots. My roommate's boyfriend's mom proposed to me.
July 4, 2008 rivals July 4, 2003 when the fireworks caught Marc's couch and hair on fire. Thanks, United States of America. You are my favorite country of all the countries I've lived in. Ever.

What baristas say about me, What I say about Independence Day
Supporting the economy by the dawn's early light!
Independence, yeah! Yeahhh!

I don't have anything patriotic on my iPod, not even The West Wing theme song. If the country station doesn't come through with "God Bless America", the music is going off and I will belt out the national anthem all the way to work.

It'll be a movie. You'll see.
You know about the freed Colombian hostages, I'm sure. Did you know how freaking sneaky their liberation was, though? Did you know that government agents posed as guerillas for months and then convinced their genuine rebel counterparts to bring the hostages to an undercover helicopter? And more and more awesome things? Read about it!

This fake helicopter represents freedom and stealth.

Intro, Body paragraphs, Conclusion - My Favorite Kind of Exercise
Scrambling around the Chuckanut Formation is my favorite kind of exercise.
First, you get to examine sea stars, crabs, and jellyfish. (Each of these deserves its own entry.)
Second, I don't realize that the scrambling is actually exercise. In fact, I came home yesterday and kept wondering, "Why are my calves and shoulders sore? Whhhhyyy?" And then I thought about the scrambling. That was it. Successful scrambling causes soreness.
Third, you get to feel like a badass. This is because unsuccessful scrambling causes full body slips down seaweedy boulders. Then, friends like Baumgal lend you her shirt so you can clean your muddy camisole with sea water and dead barnacles.
These are the reasons why scrambling around the Chuckanut Formation is my favorite kind of exercise.

Wildlife, part 1 of tbd
Raccoons are pesky, eh? (I picked up that "eh" from the Canadians that surrounded us.) (Just kidding. Mostly they just said, "Shhhh!" to us. Never a "Shhhh, eh?") While we humans huddled around the fire roasting marshmallows, drinking "camping spirit water", and eating pasta salad by hand, the raccoons would sneak into our site and scamper off with our hot dog buns.
The raccoons got into the following:
-Hot dog buns
-Chocolate
-Doritos
-Fatima's Arby's bag
-The empty Lunchables container
-Our tough-gal/guy attitudes
The masked monsters also screeched in the night, freaking us out as we tried to sleep. Well, as most of us tried to sleep. Lindsay was telling "scary" stories. The screeching probably added nice effects to her attempts.
Finally, I nearly said, "Leave us, raccoons! We are Americans and already sad about our low dollar and incompetent administration. Go harass the neighbors!" It didn't work. Raccoons do not pity Americans.
