Obama Day!

It is 6:30 AM on OBAMA DAY for me.

It is around 9:30 PM, the day before OBAMA DAY for you Seattle folks.

It must suuuuuck not to be in the midst of Obama Day. Here, we (and I mean "I") wear red, white, and blue, undies that say "joy to the world", and gaze at the Coke and American Flag popcorn that is all ready for the Obama Day celebration. So fun!

Don't worry. Your Obama Day will get there eveeennntttuallllly. Until then, though, think about me and all my excitement. Let a little envy sneak into your HOPE.

Barack Obama

You know how I love Barack Obama? So do my Scandinavian pals. Well, maybe not ALL of them, but all the ones I've talked to.

Here are other things some Scandinavians love:
-Ciabatta rolls
-Pretty buildings
-Languages I can't understand
-Good beer
-Playing Whitney Houston loud on the train so I can tap my feet along
-How their money goes far in the U.S.A.
-Being thoughtful and generous to me.

I like this trip even more than I like crispy marshmallows.

I've been giving you lots of links.

Hilary Clinton is funny. So is Obama's speech writer. Everyone involved in this is funny.

Hypothetical call

Politicians everywhere are paranoid about prank calls. I, however, am not a politician. I am a professional bad ass. If President-Elect Barack Obama called me, you know what I'd say? I'd say, "Hey buddy! Let's bring world peace!" And we would. And our plan would involve puppies. And ginger snaps. And Top Chef.

Review

"In the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope." -President-Elect Obama, February 2008

Staying up late for change.

It's past my bedtime, but you know what?

It was worth it.

Me: Hahaha. Wach the DNC! Clinton is speaking in minutes.

Baum: What channel?
Baum: I may have teared up during the hilary video.

Me: I missed the video! My bro said it made him tear up. I will watch it on Youtube.

Baum: Maybe obama should fire biden and have chelsea clinton as his running mate.

Me: Can a vp be under 35?

Baum: I think so...i love you hilary! I love barack more but i also love hilary!
Baum: How awesome are the cutaways to the baby boomer women crying?

Me: Woooo! Clinton is one of the most important people in our country, ever. I will get a Hil tattoo.
Me: And the orange jacket! Let's get book club orange jackets.

Baum: Also her "throw your support to obama" speech is phenomenal.
Baum: Sisterhood of the traveling pantsuits!

Me: When I am not texting, I am applauding. USA! USA! USA!

Baum: This is exactly what i needed now that the olympics are over. USA! USA! USA! MICHELLE! USA!
Baum: Why didn't we attend the dnc?

Me: I know! I am choked up. Keep going! Keep going!

Baum: That was the best speech in the history of speaking. USA! USA! USA!

Me: Blown away. Incredible.
Me: I am going to write her a letter now.

Baum: I will too. It will say - i love you hilary clinton... then the rest will be illegible from all the tears.

What are we in this for?

Hillary Clinton is one of the greatest Americans of my lifetime.

Just so you know.

The 1,000,000,000+ spent on the war, etc.

We're not kidding when we say that Democrats are now the fiscally responsible party.

Things that make me all teary:

1.
(and the following 3 videos that make up his speech)

Please note the pound at :52. So. Perfect.

2. When Bob Marley sings, "Then we would cook cornmeal porridge / Of which I'll share with you," in "No Woman, No Cry."

3. About every third episode of The West Wing.
