This is even more adorable when you see it in context. Truth!

Drive-thru, raw as... sugar?
Some customers know exactly how they like their drinks. One friendly woman comes in every day to get a triple tall vanilla latte, 2% milk, 2 raw sugars, extra hot. Her equally nice husband orders a triple tall vanilla soy latte, 3 raw sugars.
Here, you expect me to comment on the complexity of the drinks. You're so predictable. I am not. Today, I'm blogging about raw sugar.
Raaaaaaaw sugar. Sugar in the raaaaaaaw. I have asked a few different coworkers why this raw sugar is supposedly better than the white sugar, and they never know.
One of them responded, "Because it's not as refined," and when I asked him why less refined was better, he exclaimed, "You weren't supposed to ask me that! Now you know I have no idea what I'm talking about."
The customer at the condiment bar jumped in the conversation as she tore open an eensy-weensy bag of Splenda and told us, "I think raw sugar is a genius marketing ploy that is making some CEO millions of dollars off of rich, gullible hippies." (How did this Grumpy Gills get through Wallingford to our coffee shop?)
Anyway, I looked it up. Raw sugar is slightly less refined, as my coworker said. The internet went further, though, explaining that white sugar has had some of the flavors and "impurities" removed that the brown stuff (not brown sugar, mind you, just sugar that is brown) still has. Since it still contains the molasses and whatnot, it supposedly has more flavor than white sugar.
It's too bad I only have 9 days left as a barista to show off my new sugar expertise.

Brits made another good thing.
My new disc golf disc is called The Kite. My second favorite coworker asked, "Kite like the bird, or kite like the kite?"
What? There is a kite bird? It makes sense, I guess, what with the picture of the bird on my disc, right above the word "KITE" inscribed in gold. (Fake gold, probably. But maybe not. I am drawn to fancy things.)
"Do you think the kite kite was named after the bird kite?" someone asked. "That'd make sense. Why don't we have an Oxford English Dictionary above the espresso machine?" someone else responded.
So, I came home, logged into my University of Washington account, found my way to the OED site, and looked it up.
Yes! Yes! The "hovering toy" was, in fact, named after the bird! It was first used around the year 1664! Other interesting things!
Words are the best.

The 1,000,000,000+ spent on the war, etc.
We're not kidding when we say that Democrats are now the fiscally responsible party.

Which one of you would like to be named Tula Does The Hula From Hawaii? If I call you that, will you promise to hula walk everywhere you go? And not sue me?
Thanks. You're a doll.

Spiritually rich
Two kinds of tipping exist. (No, no, not tippling!)
Tipping with money - Boooo current customers. I am going home with 50-75% of the dough I earned in the rainy days of yore.
Tipping with words - Hurrah current customers! I am going home with a metaphorical toolbox. Ways to stay on my parents' health insurance! Methods for getting top dollar on my scooter! Novels that I absolutely must read!
As long as I can pay rent, I am fine with the latter. Holla' fo' you, friendly espresso drinkers. Holla'. Fo'. You.

My stereo gets me in more trouble than my cell phone.
A certain D.H. showed me this video:
It made my brain exclaim, "Haha!" and "I agree with the overall message!"
